BMW Engine Exchange

If you are looking for a good BMW Engine then you should consider having your existing motor reconditioned or remanufactured back to OEM specifications. Either the engine  is going to be restored back to original by remanufacturing all the components by a motor engineer by fitting genuine BMW replacement parts which can be an expensive process or fitting a used engine. Considering that a new engine from the dealership will cost you at least three times the price of a reconditioned engine.

If the vehicle is out of the manufacturers warranty but is in good overall condition and the engine is completely damaged then you are faced with making a decision of whether to buy a new engine from a BMW dealership or buy a used engine either straight out of an accident damaged car or get an engine on an exchange basis for your old engine and fit it straight into the vehicle or strip down and remanufacture back to new. Those are your basic options, the choice is yours. This can be done by either using the genuine BMW parts or use pirate copied replacement parts. Your options are endless and careful consideration should be paid to; what the you are spending versus what the vehicle is worth and what you would be able to sell it for once the car is fully restored.

There are many engine builders and engineers that will recondition an engine for you and some BMW specialists that will supply you an engine on an engine exchange basis with a guarantee. Buying BMW engines on exchange saves you time and at least you are reassured of getting a good engine with certain guarantees in place, instead of buying a used engine from a scrap yard or second hand engine supplier, not knowing the service history and over all condition of the engine.

An engine can overheat during its lifespan and when this occurs the pistons and cylinder head are negatively affected although the vehicle still performs to a lesser degree without you ever knowing the full extent of the damage that was sustained during its lifetime. One important way to find out is to have a compression test done that will give you a pretty good idea and reassure you of the purchase you are going to make. However, it all depends on what your budget allows you to spend and where you are getting the engine from.
